Robert Lopez (Chief CFI)

Robert Lopez is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI-I) and a commercial single and multi-engine pilot. Born and raised in the Athens area, Robert comes from a family of pilots and began his own aviation journey in his 30s.

Robert completed his flight training at ATP Flight School in Lawrenceville and has taught as a CFI in both Northeast and South Georgia. At Fellowship Aviation, Robert serves as our Chief Instructor. His favorite part of flying in Northeast Georgia is the mountains, scenery, and the variety of airspace you get to experience. His favorite maneuver to teach is the power-off 180, and he especially enjoys teaching weather to instrument students.

Before aviation, Robert worked as a water/wastewater operator and vehicle mechanic. Outside of flying, he enjoys playing guitar and spending time with his daughter. Robert’s long-term goal is to fly for a Part 121 cargo operator.

Ryan Adams is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI-I) and a commercial single and multi-engine pilot. An Atlanta native, Ryan completed his flight training at what is now Fellowship Aviation and now enjoys helping students and renters build strong fundamentals through thoughtful, consistent instruction.

He holds an Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance and a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, and he currently works as an A&P mechanic for a Part 121 airline. Ryan loves flight instructing because he enjoys watching people grow in confidence and competence in the airplane. His favorite skills to teach are landings and the power-off 180, where precision and discipline make a measurable difference.

Before aviation, Ryan worked as a diesel mechanic and truck driver—experience that shaped his practical, hands-on approach to every lesson. Ryan’s long-term goal is to fly the 757, 777, or a Gulfstream.

Cody Brien is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and a commercial single and multi-engine pilot. Born in Oberon, New South Wales, Australia, Cody grew up traveling and previously lived in Latvia and the United Kingdom. He has since settled in the Athens area, where he completed his flight training and earned all of his ratings.

Aviation is Cody’s first passion and career choice. He enjoys training and flying in Northeast Georgia for the variety of airports we can use—an environment that helps pilots build real proficiency through different airspace, procedures, and operating conditions. His favorite topics to teach are airspace and special-use airspace, as well as aeromedical factors.

Cody is currently a PSA cadet and plans to join PSA Airlines in the future, with the long-term goal of advancing to a mainline passenger carrier. Outside of aviation, he enjoys training in Taekwondo (TKD), in which he has earned his black belt.
